Learn a super simple way to create a bold and beautiful African Safari sunset using simple shapes, warm colors, and striking silhouettes. This very beginner-friendly painting focuses on blending a glowing sunset sky and layering dark animal shapes in the foreground for dramatic contrast. Perfect for someone that can't draw a straight line or has no artistic abilities. This project builds confidence in color blending, composition, and brush control. Can't draw? Don't worry about the animal shapes I have a stamp.

Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Boise.

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Join the Boise Photography Group on Facebook to share your photos after the session.

It was a good experience. We got to meet a few people. I am a beginner so I don?t really know a lot about my phone camera but it was good to learn how to see object to take pictures of.

I thought it was very informational!!! Hearing information from an experienced photographer and being able to do the things with my camera as he explained was very helpful. I read on line a lot of information and watch videos but being there with someone hands on was so much better for me!! I appreciate the class and look forward to the next one that I?m signed up for.

Great class on the exposure triangle plus lens selection. It was helpful to learn by doing rather than just reading a book at home. Dragomir shared his experience with us to help students discover or deepen our visual artist within us regardless of our experience.

Although I was already proficient with the skills being taught, the instructor was very kind, and an inspiration at learning to look at things differently. We also discussed different equipment, found that enlightening.

I really enjoyed the small group setting. The instructor was fantastic at teaching and providing space for questions. The 3 hours went by flying! Loved his way of explaining things.

Always a joy, upbeat and I get to learn something. Plus anytime out with my camera with like minded is a plus. I enjoy how Dragomir gets us to think outside our comfort zone.

Under Idaho SkiesI discovered this barn along the Snake River in southern Idaho during a scouting trip earlier this year. Its weathered red exterior stood out against the muted tones of the canyon landscape, framed by sweeping cliffs and the open desert sky. I immediately marked the location and planned to return during the next new moon, hoping to capture the Milky Way stretching above the canyon. When the night finally arrived, conditions were far from ideal. Title or Location: Caldwell, ID
I was doing a senior photoshoot in the outer parts of Caldwell. During the photoshoot, I noticed that the ground was full of Mushrooms. This was partially trampled on by a horse but the main bulb of it was still intact so I decided to take a pic of it. They are fascinating specimens of nature and though I personally can't stand the taste of them (I know, I'm weird), they are another beautiful creation. Enjoy!

I enjoyed a photowalk event with Laurie Gallant and the Sacramento Photography group visiting Horton's Iris Farm. I always bring my Infrared camera with me in hopes of getting some good IR shots. When I saw the old red truck, I HAD to shoot it in IR! This is one of my favorite shots from that day and will go into my portfolio for sure!

Title or Location: Circular Quay Sydney Australia
I was on holiday in Sydney and I went to Circular Quay to take some night time photos, when I saw that the opera house was lit up. I took a couple of photos ,then went to change my lens.By the time I had done this I saw the lights on the opera house had gone out. I then realised it was a rehearsal for Vivid a Sydney winter light show which takes place around the harbour.
